The H-Lift Aluminium Hourglass Sleeve is a specialized termination fitting designed to create secure loops or eyes on steel wire ropes. Named for its tapered mid-section, this sleeve distributes load stress more evenly than standard cylindrical ferrules, reducing the risk of premature failure. It provides a high strength-to-weight ratio and is ideal for applications where weight reduction is critical, such as in aviation and marine rigging.

The Aluminium Hourglass (Duplex) Sleeve features a unique figure-8 design that keeps wire rope strands parallel, preventing them from crossing or crushing during swaging. Extruded from high-quality aluminium alloy, these sleeves provide superior alignment and can achieve up to 95% of the cable's breaking strength.

The unique Hourglass shape separates the two wire strands. This ensures they remain parallel and do not twist inside the sleeve, resulting in a cleaner, stronger crimp.

Capable of achieving up to 95% of the cable's nominal breaking strength. The aluminium alloy "flows" effectively into cable crevices for a secure bond.

Excellent natural corrosion resistance for outdoor and marine (non-stainless) environments. High strength-to-weight ratio is perfect for stage rigging and aviation.

📏 Imperial Sizing

Available in a wide range of fractional sizes from 3/64" up to 5/8", catering specifically to standard US wire rope diameters.

Q: What is the advantage of an hourglass sleeve over an oval sleeve? A: An hourglass (duplex) sleeve has a "figure-8" shape that separates the two wire strands. This ensures they remain parallel and do not twist or cross over inside the sleeve during crimping, resulting in a cleaner, stronger termination.
Q: Can I use aluminium hourglass sleeves on stainless steel cable? A: No. You should use Copper or Zinc-Plated sleeves for stainless steel wire rope to avoid galvanic corrosion.
