Clevis Grab Hook

No.703001

The H-Lift Clevis Grab Hook features a clevis-style attachment with pin connection, designed to grip chain links at any point for adjustable load securement and rigging applications.

  • Clevis attachment with pin connection allows rotation and articulation under load
  • Narrow throat grabs G-43 and G-70 chain at any link for length adjustment
  • Available in carbon steel (2,600-18,500 lbs WLL) or alloy steel (3,600-27,000 lbs WLL)
  • Chain sizes from 1/4" to 3/4" suitable for transport chains, load binders, and tie-down systems

Technical Data

The Clevis Grab Hook is the industry standard for shortening chains. Designed with a narrow throat to lock onto a chain link, it features a built-in clevis pin for direct attachment. Choose from Carbon Steel (Grade 43) for general utility or Alloy Steel (Grade 70) for heavy-duty transport and cargo control.

Clevis Grab Hook
⚠️ SAFETY WARNING: NOT FOR OVERHEAD LIFTING.
These hooks are designed for transport, towing, and lashing only. For overhead lifting, use Grade 80 or Grade 100 components.
⚙️ Dual Material Options

Carbon (G43): White Zinc finish. Ideal for farm & industrial utility.
Alloy (G70): Yellow Zinc finish. High-strength for transport & tie-down.

🔗 Secure Clevis

Features a built-in clevis pin and cotter pin for direct, secure attachment to the chain link, eliminating the need for an intermediate coupling link.

⛓️ Chain Shortening

The narrow throat opening is engineered to "grab" a specific chain link securely, allowing users to easily adjust the leg length of the chain assembly.

🔨 Drop Forged

Drop forged, quenched, and tempered construction ensures maximum structural integrity and durability under heavy loads.

ℹ️ Capacity Range:
• Carbon (G43): 2,600 lbs - 18,500 lbs
• Alloy (G70): 3,600 lbs - 27,000 lbs

Q: What is the advantage of a Clevis Grab Hook over an Eye Grab Hook? A: A Clevis Grab Hook connects directly to the chain using a built-in pin, eliminating the need for an extra connecting link (hammerlock). An Eye Grab Hook requires a separate connector or shackle to attach to the chain.
Q: Can I use Grade 70 Clevis Grab Hooks for overhead lifting? A: No. While Grade 70 (Alloy) is strong, it is designed for transport and cargo control. For overhead lifting, you must use Grade 80 or Grade 100 components.
