G100 Ratchet Load Binder with Clevis Attachments, RLCT type
No.411104
The Grade 100 Ratchet Load Binder with Clevis Attachments (RLCT Type) is an essential, high-strength tool used to securely tighten and lock chains around cargo for safe transportation on flatbeds and heavy-duty trailers.
Direct Clevis Connections: Built-in clevis ends on both sides allow for direct, secure, and fast connections to transport chain without the need for additional coupling links.
Controlled Tensioning: The ratchet gear mechanism provides smooth, incremental tightening and releasing, preventing the sudden, dangerous kickbacks associated with lever binders.
Cargo Immobilization: Designed specifically to pull heavy chains tight over loads, effectively immobilizing the cargo and preventing any shifting or loosening during transit.
High-Capacity Range: Available for 8mm, 10mm, and 13mm transport chains, offering extreme Lashing Capacities (LC) from 50 kN up to 134 kN to handle demanding heavy hauls.
Grade 100 High Capacity: Manufactured from high-strength G100 alloy steel. Offers a superior Lashing Capacity (LC) compared to standard G70/G80 binders, allowing for securement of extremely heavy loads with lighter equipment.
Safe Ratchet Mechanism: Features a geared ratchet design that allows for controlled, incremental tensioning. Unlike lever binders, there is no risk of handle snap-back (kickback), significantly improving operator safety.
Complete with Grab Hooks: Pre-assembled with two G100 Clevis Grab Hooks at the ends. Designed to grip the chain link securely, allowing for immediate setup.
Anti-Disengagement: Hooks are equipped with retaining pins (depending on exact model specification) to keep the chain in place during slack conditions.
Durability: Powder-coated finish provides excellent resistance to rust and corrosion in harsh outdoor transport conditions.
Standard: Compliant with EN 12195-3 (Lashing Chains) standards for performance and safety.
⚠️ WARNING: Designed for Cargo Securement (Lashing) only. NOT to be used for overhead lifting.
Safety Comparison: Ratchet vs. Lever Binder
Type
Operation
Safety & Ease
Ratchet Binder (This Product)
Geared / Screw
Safest Choice. No recoil. Allows infinite adjustment for precise tension. Easier to use, requires less force.
Lever Binder (Snap Binder)
Lever Action
Risk of Injury. Handle stores kinetic energy and can "snap back" violently if not handled correctly. Harder to tighten.

Chain Lashing Systems & Load Binders
Standard: BS EN 12195-3 | Heavy Duty Load Restraint
Safety Guidelines
Always
Inspect chain lashings before every use.
Calculate the lashing force required for the load.
Select the capacity and quantity of chains to meet the calculated force.
Ensure lashing points on the vehicle are strong enough.
Protect chains from small radii or sharp edges (or reduce capacity per instructions).
Ensure chains are correctly tensioned.
Exercise extreme care when releasing tension (loads may have shifted).
Never
Never use chain lashings for lifting.
Never knot, tie, or modify chain lashings.
Never overload the system.
Never use over sharp edges without protection.
Never expose chains to chemicals (especially acids) without consultation.
Never use chains with distorted links, damaged tensioners, or missing ID tags.
Selection & Usage Guide
Selecting the Correct System
The relevant standard is BS EN 12195-3: 2001. This requires:
Chain conforming to EN 818-2 (Grade 8).
Connecting components conforming to EN 1677.
Shortening components must have a safety latch/securing device.
Note: Lashing Capacity (LC) is expressed in daN (decaNewton). 1 daN ≈ 1 kg.
Using Chain Lashings Safely
Ensure the load binder (tensioner) is free to align and not bent over an edge. The chain must not be twisted. Hooks must engage correctly. Sharp Edges: If using over small radius edges without protection, the lashing capacity MUST be reduced according to manufacturer instructions.
In-service Inspection & Storage
Hydrogen Embrittlement: Never expose chains to acids. If contaminated, clean with clear water and dry naturally.
Rejection Criteria: Do not use if you find illegible markings, bent/elongated links, distorted hooks, or missing safety latches.
⚠️ Inspection Requirement: Chains wear over time. LEEA recommends inspection by a competent person at least every 6 months.
Storage: Store in a clean, dry area, hanging up if possible to prevent corrosion and contamination.
